Quel sempre acerbo ed onorato giorno
the way she looked directed by Truffaut
set mirrors at an angle to the world
& made its subatomic dance light up
her extraterritoriality
I saw her shed a tear from our reserve
of canned humanity & ongoing
hopelessness of which she is the subject
as well as its presiding deity
she was aways the icon of herself
in my verbal painting where I applied
endless layers of almost transparent
text I nearly rub out with a finger
to create the subtle sfumatura
we’ll meet again don’t know where don’t know when
